Islandness in human rights, human rights in islandness: Missing voices

چکیده

Island Studies literature has rarely engaged with human rights law to scrutinise how the development of standards and/or their (in)efficient implementation on islands contour lives islanders and islandness itself. Along similar lines, research practice do not systematically take into account research. The present article explores mutual reticence between Studies, suggesting, though, that both fields can offer each other important opportunities for development. It advocates, in particular, it is high time a cohesive approach which based rights-based islandness-based rights. A potential cross-fertilisation be very promising only advancement respective from scholarly point view, but also more efficient understanding protection practice.
